MOSL welcomes new Chief Executive
Chris Scoggins began as Chief Executive of Market Operator Services Limited (MOSL) today.
The news comes after the announcement by the MOSL Board of Chris’ appointment in early May to replace MOSL’s former Chief Executive Ben Jeffs.
Chris is an experienced business leader who has worked at board level for over 15 years including 12 years as Chief Executive and 7 years in non-executive director roles. He has worked in a range of industries, both regulated and non-regulated, across Europe, USA, Asia and Australia.
Chris was previously Chief Executive of National Rail Enquiries and of Train Information Services Ltd, a data services company that developed a market in rail data products, both companies owned by the train operating companies.
MOSL is the market operator for the newly formed competitive water retail market in England for non-household customers which opened on 1 April 2017, marking one of the biggest shake-ups to the water sector since privatisation in 1989.
The opening of the new market means that more than 1.2 million eligible businesses large and small can now benefit from the prospect of a better price for a better service. Two months into the new market we have 35 retailers – national, regional and self-supply – and more than 22,500 water or wastewater services have been switched.
Chris joins MOSL at an important time as the company transitions from launching the market to enabling its ongoing operation and development.
On his first day, Chris said: “I look forward to engaging with all of our stakeholders as MOSL plans for the future.”
