A leak on a premises can be identified in several ways, for example, the wholesaler's network monitoring or through observed abnormalities in consumption values.

Customer touchpoint

A leak on a property may require either physical access to the property by the wholesaler or the wholesaler may provide a leakage notice to the customer.

Obligations under the codes

Leakages are governed largely outside of the codes. However, retailers can request a volumetric adjustment to a customer’s charge as a result of a burst or leak. Process H1 of the Operational Terms describes this in greater detail.
