Circumstances
If a customer, wholesaler or retailer believes that a meter is not recording volumes accurately then they can request a meter accuracy test.
Customer touchpoint
If the meter has been recording volumes inaccurately it will have impacted the customer's bill. Meter accuracy tests require access to the premises either to allow the removal and temporary replacement of a meter or an in-situ assessment.
Obligations under the market codes
Retailers can request that a meter accuracy test is performed and can request for this to be done by an accredited entity. The relevant form to request a meter read is B/02: 'Metering activity carried out by an accredited entity'.
The process of meter accuracy tests is detailed in Section B: Process B3 and B4 of the Operational Terms.
