When a wholesaler or retailer suspect that the documented details of a supply point differ from actuality.
This may occur when a wholesaler wishes to verify meter details, a gap site needs to be registered, a service component has been provided to a premises, but not registered, a supply point needs to be deregistered or if the valuation office or UPRN requires amendment.
Depending on the need to verify the supply, a customer’s bill or record may be affected. Any amendments to the record may require a physical visit to the premises.
Obligations under the codes
Retailers and wholesalers are responsible for working in collaboration to verify supply point details. This is described in more detail in Part C of the Operational Terms.
