When a licenced water supplier ceases to supply any premises with water under the conditions set out by the Water Industry Act 1991, under sections 63AF or 110O.
The Authority (Ofwat) will trigger the interim supply process, requesting that MOSL, as market operator, carries out the Interim Supplier Allocation Process.
A supply point will enter the interim supply process and be allocated a new retailer who has opted in to the process within that area.
Obligations under the codes
MOSL is responsible for identifying, allocating and transferring the interim duty supply points to retailers that have opted in to the process, in conjunction with Ofwat. This is described in more detail in CSD 0004 (Interim supplier allocation process) and in Ofwat’s Interim Supply Code.
