Circumstances
A wholesaler may need to change the tariff of a service component associated with a supply point.
This may occur when the customer's consumption profile means that they no longer qualify for their current tariff. Or when a retailer requests that the wholesaler apply a different tariff to the service component than its wholesale tariff document.
Customer touchpoint
A wholesaler may decide that it requires a visit to the premises to conduct site assessment, which will be arranged with the retailer. A subsequent change in tariff will affect the customer's future bills.
Obligations under the codes
Wholesalers are responsible for any updates to service component data such as tariff selection. This is described in more detail in Section 13 of CSD 0104 (Maintain SPID data).
The process that describes the wholesaler notifying the retailer of a change in tariff is set out in H4 of the Operational Terms. Alternatively, the process that describes the retailer requesting a change in tariff is set out in the Operational Terms, H5.
