Circumstances
If there is a change to the service components associated with a supply point, the service component data in CMOS needs to be updated.
This may be the addition or removal of a metered, unmeasured or assessed service component. For example, changes to service component data may include a volumetric adjustment if the water supply was used for firefighting or if a burst pipe has affected the metered volume.
Customer touchpoint
The addition or removal of a service component may require a physical change to the premises. The change to service component allowances will have an impact on the customer’s bill.
Obligations under the codes
Wholesalers are responsible under the codes for updating service component data. This is set out in Section 13 of CSD 0104 (Maintain SPID data).
