Circumstance

Some premises may have a sewerage supply point which is served by a Wholesaler who operates wholly or mainly in England and a water service that is served by a Wholesaler that operates wholly or mainly in Wales. In this situation, the sewerage service (and the supply point) is in the market and the water service (and thus water supply point) is not.

Customer touchpoint

Customers with cross border meters’ bills can switch their sewerage supplier but not their water supplier.

Obligations under the codes

Sewerage wholesalers who are reliant on cross border meters are responsible for working with the owner of the meter to input the meter details into CMOS as set out in the Market Terms and Business Terms.

For supply points that have cross border meters, the sewerage retailer is responsible for liaising with the other Undertaker Retail Business to input meter reads into CMOS as set out in the Market Terms and Business Terms.
